About

My beloved Nikon FA and me.

Hello, I’m Davy Mike Bruyninckx, a film street photographer drawn to the vibrant energy of the people in the urban landscapes of Deep Ellum, Texas. My film camera is my trusty companion for exploring the human experience, one expression, one moment at a time.

Currently, I’m very wonderfully immersed in a long-term project documenting life on the streets of Deep Ellum, TX. This iconic Dallas neighborhood, with its rich history, eclectic characters, and gritty charm, provides endless inspiration for my work. I’m fascinated by the intersection of human interaction and visual interest and I strive to capture the beauty in the mundane, the unusual and the overlooked, in color film photography at the present moment in my photographic journey.

Through my photographs, I aim to reveal the essence of Deep Ellum, as well as that of mine – our joined resilience, creativity, and community spirit. I’m driven by a passion for storytelling through the craft of documentary photography and a desire to preserve the neighborhood’s unique character in the face of many rapid changes throughout this wonderful moment in time in which our paths have crossed for Deep Ellum is where I charge my inner battery. It’s where I get energized.

On this site, you’ll find a selection of my street photography work, including mostly images from my ongoing Deep Ellum street photography project. Thank you for joining me on this visual journey. I’m very excited to share my photography and a little bit of my own personal story with you.

Currently, photographically my heart lies in Deep Ellum, Texas.
